Babylonian Empire

4,000 years ago near EUPHRATES RIVER, became an ancient settlement near the most spectacular city in the east. The city was Babylon, and when Hammurabi established conquered Mesopotamia, he is there his capital. Over the centuries, Babylon’s fortunes rose and went down because of the Hittite city, butchers, and was attacked by the Assyrians. King Hammurabi : Mesopotamia’s wisest king. Hammurabi (r.1792- 1750 BC), followed ancient tradition by issuing laws to protect his subjects. They were carved on a black stone column 282 laws using the inscription script. The empire he founded in 1595 BC was destroyed when it was plundered by the patrons of Anatolia. The Kassites from the mountains to the cast of Babylon then invaded and took over.
